We’re Trending in 2022!

It seems that as a year comes to a close, nearly every wedding publication takes a look forward at the upcoming year and makes some predictions.

Sometimes, they are spot on, and sometimes they’re not. Although sometimes we see some trends that start in one area catch on, but never move much farther.

Trending in 2022

Looking at a number of the coming wedding trends for 2022 when it comes to catering, we realized that John Michael Exquisite Weddings and Catering is TRENDING!

Seriously, there are a considerable number of things we’re seeing as ‘trends’ that we’ve been doing for quite some time. And, they are all things that our Orlando wedding clients love!

Going Local

Hey, we live in Florida! Sourcing locally is one thing that makes Central Florida catering so amazing. 

Florida, because of our warmer weather, has two local growing seasons. When half the country is freezing and snowed in, we have access to things like local Florida Strawberries. 

Not to mention the abundance of fresh Florida citrus that enhances our dishes like Lemon Chicken or Chili Lime Roasted Potatoes.

And, let’s not forget about Florida’s incredible seafood. Can you say Shrimp and Grits?

Offering Vegan Food

Our John Michael Exquisite Weddings and Catering team has always offered delicious vegan options. What started several years ago as an occasional ‘special request’ has gone more mainstream and is regularly provided over the years.

While many of our regular menu items can be made vegan, and we work with couples on their requests, one of our most popular vegan entrees is our delicious Tempeh Steak Medallions topped with Roasted Vegetable Ratatouille.

Waste Not

Zero waste is at the forefront of many couples’ requests, and our team does everything we can to be as mindful as possible. As a matter of fact, the ‘fine print’ on our catering packages has always included our Green Initiative.

“GREEN INITIATIVE: we strive to be responsible to our environment by having energy conservation, recycling/composting of disposables and using only all-natural or organic foods in our menu preparations.”

We LOVE Brunch!

Yes, Brunch is trending. Many couples are finding that Saturday nights are filling up fast. So, many are getting creative with the timing, food selections, and budget – and Brunch fits the bill!

We’ve hosted more Brunch receptions than we can count. From Chicken and Waffles to Bacon Bars and Mimosa Bars– we’ve got you covered.

What No Wedding Cake?

Let’s face it, wedding cakes are traditional, iconic, and we don’t see them ever going away. But, we see more and more couples offering fun additions and alternatives.

Our Flaming Donut Bars are a fan favorite! But, our yummy Pie Bar and Smore’s Station are sure to be crowd-pleasers too!

So, yes, we’re really excited to see that when the wedding industry starts to look at this year’s wedding catering trends, our John Michael Exquisite Weddings and Catering team is already ahead of the game!
