We know that one of the things that makes John Michael Exquisite Weddings and Catering unique is the way we arrange client tastings. Our traditional Grand Tastings have been wildly successful and allow clients to taste many of our most popular food items.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 has made our traditional way of hosting these impossible. So, we decided that we needed to, at least for a few months, reinvent a way for our clients to taste our fantastic food.
Our guests and our team’s safety is top of our list as we begin both reopening and hosting tasting events.
Intimate Tastings At Celebration Gardens
We have designed a series of incredible events to share our delicious foods and maintain social distancing and safety protocols.
We’ll be hosting them at the beautiful Celebration Gardens in Winter Park, where we can take advantage of the fantastic outdoor spaces, the ability to socially distance and to host an intimate dining event indoors in the air conditioned Dahlia Room.
Our first event, Sunday, June 28th, is completely booked, but spaces are available for following tasting events.
• Thursday, July 30th – 6:00 PM or 7:30 PM
• Sunday, August 30th – 12:00 PM or 1:30 PM
We can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 28 guests for each seating. We permit only two people per party and are preparing fourteen tables of two, spaced six feet apart so that each couple will have their own table.
Our team will greet guests at an outdoor registration table with a sanitization station. Restrooms with handwashing facilities are also available.
You will be able to stroll the gardens and enjoy a beverage before being seated. However, masks will be required of all guests until you are seated, and the tasting begins.
Safe Food Service Practices
To ensure the safety and comfort of all of our guests, all food items will be served rather than offering food stations.
The tasting will begin with our John Michael Catering servers, with the appropriate masks and gloves, offering each table a selection of Butler Passes Hors d’ oeuvres. Each sampling will be presented to you, rather than remove the food from the tray yourself.
Each of the following courses will be plated selections presented to you at your table. These will include a salad course with freshly baked rolls, followed by a sampling of two entrees and two sides. As our carving items are always in demand, we have designed a way for a server to bring a cart to each table, offering a carved meat selection to each guest. This will be followed by another plated selection of two entrees and two sides.
The tasting event will conclude in the gardens with a dessert station. Hopefully, you still have room!

Menu items for the following two events will include different and unique selections. Our catering team can share a list of menu items for each tasting.
What you can expect
The food service portion of the event will take approximately 45 minutes, and this will allow you time to enjoy some dessert and for us to thoroughly clean and reset for the second seating of the event.
Our staff will be washing hands regularly, changing gloves, and wearing masks throughout the entire event.
