A Gold & Burgundy Wedding on the Lake

One venue on our preferred list that we love is the Tavares Pavilion on the Lake! As a lakeside wedding venue, this was the perfect setting for our John Michael’s couple, Halie and Mark’s, gold and burgundy wedding. 

It can be your perfect wedding venue too! In this post, we’ll share Halie and Mark’s wedding story, showing you how they pulled off a gorgeous, family-oriented burgundy wedding using one of our all-inclusive Diamond wedding packages.

Planning a Lakeside Burgundy Wedding

The planning of Halie and Mark’s gold and burgundy wedding began with selecting which of our Diamond wedding packages was right for them: our 1 Carat, 4 Carat, or 7 Carat package. 

When determining which was best for their nuptials, our team helped them evaluate their vendor needs and budget. All of our packages are customizable and that’s just what Halie and Mark did! 

They ultimately chose our 7 Carat wedding package that included the following:

They then selected the Tavares Pavilion on the Lake for its stunning lakeside beauty. They knew its wooden interior would also set the ideal vibe for their autumn burgundy wedding. 

Between our Diamond package and this preferred wedding venue, it was a match made in Heaven for Halie and Mark! 

Burgundy Wedding Ceremony Décor 

On the day of Halie and Mark’s burgundy wedding, our team arrived to the Tavares Pavilion on the Lake to set up the nearlyweds’ personal décor and prepare their wedding catering. 

This couple used mahogany Chiavari chairs at the ceremony site with ivory petals lining both sides of the aisle. We also set floral sprays on every other aisle seat to pave the most beautiful way to the ceremony altar. 

This made for a striking ceremony space, where the notes of “You are the Reason” rang out to mark the start of the wedding. Halie was a vision in her white, shimmering wedding gown with floral appliques, and Mark perfectly complemented her in his white tux. 

After a sweet and sentimental ceremony, Halie and Mark were married! 

Burgundy Wedding Reception Décor 

In this burgundy wedding’s reception space, Halie and Mark’s Orlando wedding vendor team set round guest tables covered with Victorian gold Lamour linens. The florist then placed gold, open frame stands with red and white floral atop them. The height of these centerpieces gave this burgundy wedding reception an extra dramatic flair and enabled guests to easily see and converse with each other at their tables. 

Halie and Mark also treated their guests to cute and creative wedding favors in the form of individual mini champagne bottles filled with M&Ms! We set one at each place setting, adding to the sweetness of the day.

We also set a sweetheart table for Halie and Mark that was a half-moon with Bordeaux taffeta sequin linen and Victorian gold Lamour napkins. After the ceremony, we would frame the edges of the sweetheart table with the bridesmaids’ bouquets and set Halie’s bridal bouquet in the center. The finishing touch was a gold, sparkly “Mr. & Mrs.” sign that sat at the forefront of the table. 

This couple’s cake display table was truly a sight to be seen! Their gorgeous white wedding cake had 4 tiers and gold, sparkly borders. We carefully placed red floral on each tier to tie the cake into this burgundy’s wedding color palette. 

As if that wasn’t stunning enough, Halie and Mark had a fountain underneath their cake! Their cake sat on top of a column and the 3-tiered fountain flowed with water as an added visual display. The gold garland leaves that we wrapped around the base of it perfectly mirrored the gold borders on the cake, tying together the entire aesthetic. 

Wedding Catering at Tavares Pavilion on the Lake: 

At John Michael Events, we take extra special care of you and your loved ones in the way we know best: through food! 

At Halie and Mark’s burgundy wedding, this started at cocktail hour, where our team served butler passed hors d’oeuvres. These included mini chicken pot pies, chicken and waffles, and meatballs with marinara, pomerey mustard, and bourbon sauces.  

We also provided a full liquor open bar throughout the night! With this bar package, we served red and white wine varietals, Bud Light, Corona, and Yuengling bottled beers, Clausthaler nonalcoholic beer, Absolut vodka, Bacardi rum, Seagram’s whiskey, Beefeater’s gin and Jim Beam. Not to mention that we provided all the necessary mixers, garnishes, and tools that we would need to make sure all the guests got their beverage of choice!

Wedding Dinner Menu by John Michael Events 

Now for the main catering event: dinner! Halie and Mark’s wedding dinner buffet included the following:

Caesar John Michael

Romaine lettuce tossed with sliced mushrooms, sliced red onions, grated parmesan cheese, homestyle croutons and tossed in our award-winning Caesar dressing

Panko and Parmesan Chicken

Chicken breast coated in panko breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and a savory blend of fresh herbs, onions and garlic then baked to perfection

Pesto primavera

Sweet Potato Casserole

A blend of sweet potatoes, cream, butter, brown sugar and cinnamon topped with glazed nuts and caramelized mini marshmallows

Three Cheese Potatoes

Diced potatoes baked with cream sauce, caramelized onions and a three-cheese blend

Chef Carved Round of Beef with Mushroom Demi and Rosemary Tarragon Sauces

Rosemary Garlic, Honey Wheat and Plain Sea Salt Yeast Rolls with Butter Rosettes

Additionally, since kids are a huge part of Halie and Mark’s family, we served them special kids’ meals that included chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and fruit. 

From the hors d’oeuvres to dinner to the bar, we kept every guest happy throughout Halie and Mark’s burgundy wedding! 

After the meal, everyone thoroughly enjoyed every tier of the wedding cake! As your Orlando wedding caterer, we take care of cutting and serving the cake. That night, Halie and Mark’s guests indulged in delightful cake flavors, such as almond and chocolate cake, Oreo cake, and lemon and raspberry cake. 

Talk about a sweet ending to a sweet day!
