The holiday season is nearly here! Since we are a veteran wedding caterer, we are always thinking three steps ahead, so with winter around the corner, we are already gearing up for all our winter weddings and events. We’re prepped and ready for all the comfort food with seasonal flavors, like mini chicken pot pie hors d’oeuvres, a ropa vieja entrée, or a side of our “fully involved” mashed potatoes.
It is always our goal to serve your guests the most delightful delicacies that bring smiles to their faces and never is this truer than for a winter wedding or event. This is the season for gathering with loved ones over your favorite dishes and celebrating love in its many forms.
Today, we’re celebrating the winter wedding of Hannah and Anthony! We created a custom wedding menu for their winter wedding at Tavares Pavilion on the Lake. Every course was thoughtfully selected with the time of year and their guests’ preferences in mind, which made their wedding menu uniquely theirs. In this post, we’ll showcase all the stunning details from their navy and burgundy wedding and fill you in on every delicious morsel from their wedding menu.
Let’s dig in!
All-Inclusive Wedding Package:
For their winter wedding, Hannah and Anthony selected one of our Diamond packages. These are all-inclusive wedding packages that not only include your entire catering menu, but also all the other wedding vendors you’ll need to create your dream day. Our expert John Michael Events team has done the legwork for you in carefully vetting the vendors on our preferred list, so you can rest assured that by booking one of our Diamond packages, you’re getting the best the Orlando wedding industry has to offer… all in one fell swoop!
Hannah and Anthony’s Diamond package included catering, venue, photo, floral, wedding cake, music, and coordination. Since they had a winter wedding, their wedding colors included navy and burgundy with gold and silver accents.
Knowing that they were in good hands on their winter wedding day, both Hannah and Anthony spent the morning getting ready for the ceremony with their wedding party. They got all dolled up while our team prepared the food and table setups for the day, from the guest dining tables and chairs to the bar to the cake, guest book, and cocktail tables.
They even exchanged private letters prior to the ceremony, which perfectly set the mood for the day’s festivities.
Winter Wedding Ceremony & Cocktail Hour:
Hannah and Anthony’s winter wedding ceremony took place in front of the venue’s grand wooden staircase. Fluffy, emerald garlands adorned with metallic ornaments and twinkle lights lined the banisters and canvases with the couple’s favorite verse framed the aisle. The amber lighting in the space set a romantic tone for the proceedings, and more than a few tears were shed during the ceremony itself. Hannah looked like a princess in her white lace wedding gown and tiara, and Anthony perfectly complemented her look in his classic navy blue suit with champagne tie.
By the time they officially tied the knot, everyone was ready to celebrate! The ceremony’s conclusion meant that it was show time for our catering team, as we opened the bar on the venue’s pier and began butler passing the hors d’oeuvres. As the newlyweds captured post-ceremony portraits, we served their guests Boursin stuffed mushroom caps, beef and blues, and mini twice baked potatoes with chive sour cream. They indulged in these bites while sipping on their choice of beer, wine, or red sangria from the open bar.
Part of our wedding catering services includes bartending. We provide everything your bar will need, including plastic tumblers, snack mix, bar décor, cocktail napkins and of course, the alcohol. We truly strive to make wedding planning as stress-free as possible, so we take care of everything for you, from setup to strike.
A Custom Wedding Reception Menu:
When it was time for this winter wedding celebration to start, we invited guests into the main reception space, where they found dining tables swathed in ivory linens and topped with towering red and white floral centerpieces. A grand Christmas tree stood in the corner next to the sweetheart table, which we decorated with a burgundy linen, floating candles, and the bridesmaids’ and Hannah’s bouquets. We also repurposed the canvases from the ceremony aisle to use as additional décor throughout the reception.
Following the couple’s grand entrance, the formal dances, and toasts, it was dinner time! Hannah and Anthony treated their guests to a wonderful dinner buffet of:
Caesar John Michael
Roquefort mushroom chicken
White truffle bacon mac and cheese
Garlic mashed potatoes
Southern style pole beans
Rosemary garlic, honey wheat and plain sea salt yeast rolls with butter balls
Not to mention that we had an action station to serve Chef carved top round with a mushroom demi sauce! From the feedback we got from both the couple and their guests that evening, it’s safe to say that everyone finished the meal with full stomachs and full hearts.
Wedding Menu Enhancements:
Once the dinner service was complete, we assisted Hannah and Anthony with their cake cutting. This couple had a four tier cake, inspired by “Beauty and the Beast.” It had shiny gold accents, fresh floral, and an adorable custom cake topper of Belle and the Beast.
The cake was just as delightful on the inside as it was on the outside! Guests got to choose their favorite cake flavor from red velvet, raspberry swirl, and spice cake with apple.
The food service didn’t end there though! Hannah and Anthony chose to have our bananas foster as a treat for everyone while they took a break from dancing. This consisted of bananas tossed in a brown sugar, butter, fresh lemon, fresh orange and cinnamon sauce. Our Chef then flambeed this in front of guests with rum for an added surprise-and-delight element. It was the perfect winter late night snack!
The remainder of the evening was joyful to no end! Smiles never left guests’ faces as Hannah threw her bouquet and everyone danced the night away. As this winter wedding drew to a close, the newlyweds made their grand exit outside as bubbles filled the air. Nothing makes us happier than seeing our couples have their dream wedding!
Congratulations Hannah and Anthony on a beautiful and delicious winter wedding!
